I hope you like my ribbons

Pearl Jam – Even Flow

I love this song!

Bad hair days

Do you know that feeling when you are annoyed just because your hair looks awful and it doesn`t obey you? Well I`ve been having this feeling for two days now, but not because of the hair. I just hate it when I can`t control things in life and they`re not up to me. I just hope everything will get better soon.

Every You Every Me (Sneaker Pimps Mix)

I am a huge Placebo fan and I love this mix of their famous song Every You and Every Me. It is perfect for a rainy Thursday afternoon spent in Galati.

Dot by Marc Jacobs

As I`ve already written on my blog, Lola is my favourite perfume. I love the bottle, the scent, everything! But because I love Lola too much I`ve got used to the smell of it. That means I don`t know when to stop spraying the perfume, because I don`t feel it anymore. In order to escape this situation I have to use two perfumes.

Now that I`ve learnt from British Vogue that Marc Jacobs will release Dot in July, I know exactly that the ladybug shaped bottle will be the perfect alternative to the flower capped Lola. I haven`t smelt it yet but I am sure I`ll like the scent. I can tell by the bottle design. I love ladybugs and I have a brooch, earings and pendant with the little being. I can`t wait to have both perfumes on my desk and to imagine the lovely dotty insect resting its wings on the petals of Lola.

I`ve also found out that Marc Jacobs will launch a make up line that I can hardly wait to see and buy.

On repeat in my mind

The best Easter gift

Last weekend we, the Orthodox Christians, celebrated Easter. I went with my mum, dad and grandparents to Barlad, where my maternal grandmother`s brother and sister live. It was a family reunion, and I got the chance to meet a lot of relatives.

As I get bored easily, I always like to play with the kids instead of getting involved in all sorts of conversations about my past, present and future. It is well-known that relatives are so curious and they start asking so many questions that make anyone feel uncomfortable. Hence, to escape the embarrassing situation, I went to see what my niece was drawing on her father`s laptop. I just stood there near her for minutes, listening to her telling me how much she likes to draw. She told me that she was the best in her class and that she had won some competitions. She was so proud of herself, but not in an arrogant way. When I asked her some details about the rabbit she was drawing, she started telling me why she was using specific colours, adding that “right now it may not look that good, but wait until I finish”. She really liked what she was doing, and believed in her work. She was brave and I congratulate her for that, and I also told her to always belive in herself, no matter how many people told her to give up or that she was not good enough. She, of course, nodded and continued to play with the colours and shapes, until a long eared rabbit showed up on the piece of white paper.

I didn`t think she took me quite seriously when I told her that, because she is only 8 and I was sure she thought I was boring her with my pieces of advice. However, last night, her mother came to my mum and brough with her a little drawing, telling her that it is a present from my niece.

My niece has drawn this wonderful fairy for me and I think that maybe this is the proof that she listened carefully to my pieces of advice. I believe she really liked what I told her and she has given me this present to say “thank you”. For me, this is the best Easter gift I have ever received.

CR Magazine

I can`t wait for the first issue of Carine Roitfeld`s new magazine to come out. As I`ve just read on WWD, the first issue will go on sale in September. The biannual publication has the former French Vogue editor`s initials as a name, CR.

I am very excited about this piece of news! I love Carine Roitfeld`s creative approach to her new publication, the fact that each issue of CR will be built upon a specific theme and it will feature articles written in certain authors`native language, of course with a translation attatched to the magazine. It sounds very good!!!
